Fiddlers Contest
Fiddlers of all ages are invited to participate in a lively and friendly competition. Contestants play a hoedown, a waltz and a tune of choice from memory except for the no holds barred division, where one tune in any style, genre or tempo is allowed. Acoustic instruments only; guitars and upright bass are allowed as accompaniment.

Jason Christie Children’s Fishing Day
Please note the new location of this event at the stocked pond just east of Cherokee Casino Tahlequah. Parking will be available at the casino. Jason Christie Children’s Fishing Day is an annual tradition. This free event inspires children to learn to fish, providing equipment and T-shirts to kids twelve and under while supplies last.

Cherokee Nation Museums: Free Admission
Cherokee Nation Museums will be open during their normal operating hours from Tuesday through Saturday, and to coincide with Cherokee National Holiday, they will be open for an extra day: Sunday, September 1 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Admission to all Cherokee National Museums is FREE. Please note the Cherokee Arts Center is a Maker Space for all people, and you do not have to be Cherokee to utilize the many tools the Cherokee Arts Center offers.
