Founded in June 2022 in the town of Kansas, Oklahoma, the Kansas Cherokee Community Organization (KCCO) promotes Cherokee culture through cultural events, education programs and wellness initiatives. KCCO is committed to fostering growth by upholding a strong sense of community stewardship — preserving Cherokee traditions and supporting initiatives like the Hawiya Community Food Sovereignty Program. It has been recognized with Best in Reporting, Above and Beyond and Organization of the Year from Cherokee Nation Community & Cultural Outreach. Moving into 2025, its mission continues: to work alongside our partners, honor our heritage and continue strengthening our community.
