A nationally recognized leader in community and economic development, Ghian Foreman has helped reshape neighborhoods and expand opportunity in historically underserved communities. As president and chief executive officer of the Chicago-based Emerald South Development Collaborative, the economic development partner to the Barack Obama Foundation, Foreman leads revitalization efforts that have raised more than $156 million in corporate, philanthropic and government capital. For more than two decades, he has also led Maktub Development, directing more than $250 million in real estate acquisition and development. Foreman previously served as the longest-serving president of the Chicago Police Board and teaches strategy as an adjunct assistant professor at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.
