Proudly assisting every Cherokee Nation administration since 1993, David A. Mullon Jr.’s distinguished legal career in Oklahoma and Washington, D.C., has shaped major policies affecting Indian Country. Mullon served as director of the Cherokee Nation’s legal division for Principal Chief Wilma Mankiller and later became attorney general for the Muscogee Nation. After moving to Washington in 2003, he spent more than a decade advising the U.S. Senate Committee on Indian Affairs. He later served as chief counsel for the National Congress of American Indians and joined Venable LLP. A delegate to the 1999 Cherokee Nation Constitutional Convention, Mullon currently serves as an in-house policy adviser for the Cherokee Nation Attorney General’s Office.
