A founder of East Coast Cherokees, Bill Anthony led a life of dedication to service, family and the Cherokee Nation. He joined the United States Navy and spent 20 years as a hospital corpsman, retiring as a decorated veteran. Anthony’s commitment to serving others continued long after his military career. He remained active through the American Legion, the Waterford Township Fire Department and the Camden County Fire Police. As president of East Coast Cherokees, Anthony also devoted his time to strengthening the Cherokee community and helping maintain connections among Cherokee citizens living far from the Cherokee Nation Reservation. His lifetime of military, civic and community service reflected a deep commitment to helping others.
